We are vintage sports car and sedan enthusiasts that like to drive, as much as admire, our cars. That brings up a dilemma: tires. More to the point, how do you get modern performance with a look that complements your car?

To further compound the problem, we are faced with few modern tire options:

Use a 50/60 series asymmetrical tread pattern which may change the rolling radius and RPM of your engine. Additionally the short sidewall will give a stiff and possibly jarring ride.
Select a current 65 series in the vintage smaller diameter size. This most likely will be an all season “high performance ” tire design, suitable for a family sedan or minivan. The result being a cushy ride with soft handling and steering as well.
A third choice is a resurrected design from back in the day. A few large manufacturers have dusted off some high performance products from the past with accompanying manufacturing technology from the mid 20^th century. Produced in large batches, receiving tires with current date codes and clean appearance are luck of the draw . These are also priced quite high.
